Lunches
Please pack your child with a well varied and healthy packed lunch.
Please be aware that some of the children in Playschool have food allergies and we are therefore a NO NUTS Playschool. For the safety of all our children please do not send any product that contains nuts or traces of nuts in your child’s lunch. Some of these foods for example include: Peanut butter, all chocolate spreads (including Nutella), loose nuts of any kind and marzipan etc.
Absences
We ask that if your child has either sickness or diarrhoea that you keep your child off Playschool for 48 hours after the symptoms have subsided.
If your child develops chicken pox we ask that your child only return to Playschool once all the spots have healed over.
If your child picks up headlice we will still welcome them to come to Playschool but ask that you inform us so that we can let other parents know that there is a case going around so that they can be on the look out for the eggs or lice on their own children.
We ask where possible that if your child is going to be off Playschool for any reason that you inform us either in advance or in the morning, so that we know who will be attending that day.
Please be aware that short term illnesses and holidays will still be charged for.
Clothes

Please ensure your child comes dressed appropriately for the weather. We embrace messy play, water play and outdoor play so please be aware that your child may get dirty and therefore you might not wish to dress them in their best clothes. Most children bring a bag containing at least one change of clothes so they can be changed if they get very wet/dirty.
We do have our own Dales Playschool logo sweatshirts and t-shirts for sale. You are very welcome to buy these however, they are not compulsory.
Nappies
We welcome children to Playschool who are still in nappies and those already potty trained. We ask for those still in nappies that parents provide nappies, wipes, nappy bags and any nappy creams they may require. We have named storage boxes for each of the children who require nappy changes where the parents can bring plenty of supplies in to keep their child going for a while and a staff member will inform you when your supply is getting low.
Medicines
If your child requires regular/daily prescribed medication we ask that you complete the relevant forms, provide a care plan from your child’s doctor if issued and that the prescription is clearly labelled with the child’s name and dosage information on the side. Once medication has been administered staff will record, witness and sign the appropriate forms to which parents will then countersign on collection of their child.
For temporary medications such as antibiotics we ask that you keep your child at home for the first 48 hours of use and once this time has passed without adverse reaction they are welcome to return to Playschool. Again we ask that the prescription is clearly labelled with the child’s name and dosage information on the side. Once medication has been administered staff will record, witness and sign the appropriate forms to which parents will then countersign on collection of their child.
Please be aware that we cannot administer any medications that have not been prescribed by a doctor.
Sun Cream
When we are fortunate enough to have hot and sunny weather we ask that parents send their children to Playschool with sun cream already applied and that they also provide a bottle of sun cream for their child/children that is clearly labelled with their names on so that it can be continually applied throughout the day.
Own Toys
We embrace children bringing in their own toys as we appreciate they like to show their friends. However we do try and encourage them to keep them in their trays as sometimes young children find it very challenging to share and understand that some things belong to others. Please bare in mind that Playschool is not responsible for the loss or damage that may occur to a child’s own personal toys if brought into Playschool.
